At The Salvation Army Johnsonville, kids are important! We run a variety of programmes and events for children of all ages. There's lots going on so check out the details below!

Kid's Church 

We believe Kid's Church is an important part of a child's Christian experience and we aim to provide a positive, fun, learning environment that helps connect children with God, their leaders and each other.

Kid's Church at SAJ is for all children aged 5-12 (Years 1-8). We run a Preschool programme for 2-4 year olds too. Both Kid's Church and Preschool programme's take place during Sunday morning services. A crèche room is also provided for babies.

Kid's Church children stay with their families for the first 10 minutes or so of the adult service before exiting to their own child-friendly teaching time in a separate room.

Children meet together in a large group where the bible story is presented, before moving into smaller age based groups where teaching from large group is built on and applied.

During small group time younger children may complete a craft activity to cement their learning while older children may participate in a discussion or activity.

Kid's Church aims to finish just after the adult service and children are served morning tea during their time at Kid's Church.

 

Mainly Music 

Mainly Music is an exciting pre-school music programme held on Tuesday mornings during the school term.

It is designed to introduce children to music, dance, beat, rhythm and more, as well as providing a base for your family to think about the God-part of life.

Session one // 9:30am  
Session two // 10:30am 
Combined Morning Tea & Playtime // 10:00am  
  
During Morning Tea/Playtime is an opportunity for parents to network and build friendships while their children enjoy the well-equipped play area.

Our door charge is $3 per child or $4 for 2 or more children per family and covers the cost of our props, instruments and our affiliation to the mainly music association.

Due to the growing number of families wanting to join our group, we have had to start a waiting list. This means that we are able to keep our programme manageable within our available space.

We are sure that you will have loads of fun and enjoy the time spent with your children at mainly music!

Mainly Music Family Night

We had a fun family night on Saturday August 27th! 83 people attended. We enjoyed our favourite mainly music songs together, followed by playtime and pizza and buns for tea.
