THE ALPHA COURSE
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring faith. Each talk looks at a different question and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation. On the Alpha course, participants can ask any questions they like. All opinions are treated with respect. No question is unimportant and no question is 'dumb'. The course features a video presentation, in a humorous, relaxed way followed by a small group discussion where no questions are 'off limits'. The evening starts with supper and finishes with an invitation to attend next week. The current Alpha slogan is "Keep Searching". The U2 song may sum up where many New Zealanders are today when the lyrics say ..."But I still haven't found what I'm looking for". This Alpha course then is for everyone and anyone who is 'searching' for what they 'still haven't found'.
This year The Salvation Army Johnsonville are part of a combined churches Alpha with Newlands Anglican and Johnsonville Anglican. We're holding an information night about the course on Monday the 15th of July at 1841 in Johnsonville, so you can get an idea of what the course is like and whether it's something you'd like to do. Please register or enquire below and we will be in touch
